    My Gum Recession Healed!...Holistically!!

I never minded going to the dentist. Growing up, I had pretty average dental health, not terrible, but not great either. Looking back, the issues that I did have were probably due to a lack of good gut health. Nevertheless, I never minded my dental visits... until recently.

During a regular check-up last year, the dentist told me that I had pretty severe gum AND my X-rays revealed minor bone recession. What!? Six months ago my gums were fine! There were no changes to my health, so I could not imagine what the cause could be. I sighed, and I thought to myself that it was probably age and my body needing a little extra TLC. The dentist did not mention a potential cause, but he did offer a laser treatment their office provides to help slow the rate of recession. Laser treatment was not really up my alley; I wanted to try some of my natural remedies first, and try them with great thoroughness and consistency. So, my self-treatment began.

Here is what my dental protocol looked like:

    • After I ate my meals, especially after I drank coffee, I used Uncle Harry's mouthwash. During my fasting times, I cleaned my teeth really well and coated them with plantain powder or calcium carbonate. Occasionally, I would swish colloidal silver around my mouth and let it sit on my teeth for several hours.

    • As part of my supplement routine, I took Calcarea Fluorica 12x and Calcarea phosphorica 6x (bone healing homeopathic remedies) once daily, and made sure to drink at least a glass of raw cow's milk every day.

    • At night, after tongue scraping, flossing and brushing (in that order), I coated my teeth with pascalite powder or calcium carbonate and went to bed. [Check out my article on pascalite, and it's healing properties in this post!]

After almost a year of doing that, I was due for a cleaning and some X-rays. (Note: I am not a huge fan of X-rays due to their potential harm to the body. However, because of the toxic world we live in, and with food quality being far less than ideal, I do think it is a necessary evil for the information it can provide.)

So, I rallied myself and headed to the dentist's office. You will never believe the result! I almost did not believe it... My gum recession had completely healed! The gums had grown back! ...if you can put it that way. Some people tell you that cannot happen. Well, it can! The recession of my bones was no better, but it was also no worse. I firmly believe that I can heal that too with natural remedies, but it may take a little longer.

As women get older, especially if they are having many babies, as am I, I believe that replenishment becomes even more important. It is crucial to have high-quality foods, herbs and minerals, and that they be a frequent part of a woman's diet. If this is the case, then we can age with grace without our body's hormones screaming at us because our body is out of whack. Love and care for your body, especially if it is responsible for caring after other little bodies!!
