"I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning." — Plato
Oh, the power of music! Music played a huge part of growing up in our house... no pun intended.😂 My earliest musical memories are of my dad singing. He had a wonderful voice and could do impressive impersonations of various tunes by Chicago, the Righteous Brothers, and Neil Diamond, just to name a few... I believe that it is because my father sang so often that music became very important to all of my siblings, whether we went on to learn how to make music or not.

Maria Montessori wrote, "There should be music in the child's environment, just as spoken speech exists in the child's environment." It has been shown that the power of music is so great as to affect brain development, memorization skills, language and literacy skills, as well as math skills.
When I became a mother, I already had a plan to make music a top priority, especially during the first three years of my child's life. But, because my musical skills were mediocre at best, I needed to find a program that would ensure that my children would excel where I had not. After hours of reading and research, I found Prodigies.

Fast-forward seven years and I will tell you that I am beyond pleased with the skills and abilities that all of my children have gained. It amazes me how powerful exposure itself can be. Just exposing my children to a musical environment has given all of them an impressive amount of musical ability for their respective ages. The Prodigies music program is user-friendly with available training for a parent who does not know how to go about teaching music. Their program is colorful and fun, with several options to follow or create your own music curriculum.
My children never tire of doing their music. They are always enthused and excited, which is awesome because it is that very disposition that helps them to master and retain what they have learned. On a related note, and not to brag, I have seen firsthand the power that a strong foundation in music has on a child’s education. Both of my girls, ages five and seven, excel at all of their other subjects, and are at least a grade ahead in reading and math. This, I believe, is a testament to the power of music.
So, get music into your home! Whether you want to create little Mozarts out of your children, or just enjoy a mix of classical music with them. Make good and beautiful music a cornerstone of your home.
