    Dutch Baby Pancake

    Are you craving pancakes? You want a deliciously sweet and hearty breakfast, but you do not want to stand at the stove flipping pancakes for an hour. This wonderful breakfast option provides you with the comfort of a pancake and takes just 30 minutes to prepare. Also, it is higher in protein than pancakes!


    Ready in 30ish minutes

    Serves 6-8 people



    Ingredients

    • 6 large eggs

    • 1 cup of whole wheat flour

    • 1 cup of milk

    • 2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup

    • 1 tsp of salt

    • 1 tsp of vanilla

    • 4 tablespoons of butter


    Preparation


    1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

    2. Place the eggs, flour, milk, honey, salt and vanilla into a mixer and combine well.

    3. Place a 12 inch cast iron pan on the stove and melt the butter and then take off the heat.

    4. Once the oven has come to temperature, pour the batter into the melted butter.

    5. Place the pan into the oven and bake for about 20-22 minutes or until the edges are puffed up and the pancake is golden brown.

    6. Slice and enjoy with warmed butter and maple syrup.


    Tips


    1. Other wonderful toppings for a dutch baby pancake are: any and all berries, bananas, lemon curd, fruit compotes or jams
