    Sleep Training My Babies

    Updated: Mar 18

Sleep training — the ever controversial topic. When I began having children, I had no idea what a hot topic this was going to be. I also did not think that I would have much of an issue with getting my baby to sleep considering my own mother's experience. My mother had eight children and co-slept with them all. She was always alert enough for the baby to be safe and yet was able to get a good night's rest. In a perfect world, I believe that young mothers would be surrounded and supported by other women in the family, so that, instead of an exhausted mother putting her baby to sleep, or having to sleep train the baby, there would be grandma in her rocking chair holding the baby during his afternoon nap. A mother would be able to get little breaks throughout the day from other women in her life in order to never reach "burn out".
